Plant ID and pruning advice

Hi all,

I have this growing on our back wall. I've ignored it for the couple of years we have lived here but now it's grown up beyond the window sills. 

Am I ok to attack it with a hedge trimmer 😀
I’ve no idea what I’m doing.

    Looks like a Choisya to me, and I can see lots of flower buds.  I would let it flower before cutting it back if it was me

    Thanks Chicky. I thought it might be that too. Will give it a haircut later in the year.
    I’ve no idea what I’m doing.
