Encourage growth of pleached holm oaks
in Plants
Hi
Last year I planted 4 pleached Holm oak trees (Quercus ilex) along the boundary of our garden to provide some privacy. These look good but need to thicken up a bit in order to provide the necessary screening.
Does anyone know if there is anything I can do to encourage growth, other than keeping them watered?
Many thanks.

I think you need to be patient and let them settle in.
As a follow up, when they were planted toward end of summer last year I was watering them quite a lot for the couple of months after planting them. Since then the English weather has taken care of that for me. Wondering now when we get to spring / summer this year, will these still need lots of extra watering?
Much depends upon your soil type.
Does it drain freely or not? You need to use your judgement
