As steephill said. I remember many years ago a similarly aged single antler was found on the shores of Loch Ness. A few people were convinced it was proof of Nessie!
That's funny!! My husband thought he'd found proof of a wild cat or something similar in Essex ! But it being a roe deer antler is very exciting, makes sense with the local woodland around the field.
I was tempted to suggest unicorn Muntjac have curved antlers which are slimmer than roe with a narrower basal plate. I have found a couple of antlers in the garden over the years from our semi-resident roe, will post a photo later.
