    Lovely 😊

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

    What  a lovely plant!  Never seen one of those before.  Your efforts have really paid off there.  👍
  • @ViewAhead the Datura aka Angels Trumpet used to be  available in the UK years ago but perhaps no longer ?
    They make a spectacular show as @jamesholt pics prove.

    Beautiful admired from a distance. @jamesholt
    I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.

    @ViewAhead maybe it has gone out of fashion in the UK as it's not frost hardy and it is highly toxic. Gloves should be worn when handling it.

    @jamesholt's brugmansia is gorgeous.
    Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

    They are still available here in the uk, ebay normally has plug plants for about a tenner. They are also simplicity itself to grow provided you can keep them frost free in the winter. Well worth growing if you have space, as shown by the lovely specimen above.

    We have a few and our first came home with me on a long bus trip before I had to carry it a few miles home, it was 5ft at the time and has created dozens of new plants since then. I don't have a great sense of smell but even I can smell the fragrance they put out.

    Ahh, double whammy then.  Still, a real stunner if you have the climate ... and the protective gear! 😎
