  There are lots of threads on the boards at the mo about problems with lawns so you could search for those and read thru.   You could also have a read of this

  and then ask a more specific question after telling us about how big your lawn is, whereabouts you are and how exposed it is to sun, shade, wind, rain, foot traffic, children, dogs etc.
