    This is a Plum Tree just arrived unprotected in a cardboard box. 
    Is this what it should be like?
    I'd expected a few more roots and some indication of how deep to plant it.

    Its from Suttons.  To be honest I'd expected something a bit more encouraging than it is.
    I've planted it in a large tub for the time being but am not hopeful.

    I would send them an email with that picture attached. I've not dealt with suttons before, but most online nurseries are pretty good at refunds. Certainly not very tree like!

    I have emailed them and said what its like....cant see how to add a photo on their site. Have received an automated responce saying someone will be in touch
