Don't see much wrong with planting a few trees that you like but planting too close to each other and you wont be able see and appreciate them properly.
I hope they won't cast too much shade.
There was an article on BBC news website talking about a forest the size of a tennis court.
In 5 to 10 years time you will either have moved house or be cutting some down but you will have had years of pleasure plus the pain of collecting loads of leaves every autumn , but great leaf mould though.
Just net the pond in autumn. We used to get leaves in our pond from trees that we didn't even have in the garden!
  • Exactly. I will space apart and put one in the front i think. Some be in a very large pot for now. Got a gorgeous prunus beni chidorii too. I am plating my best to make sure there is sun still 😂

I am envious of your trees so I'd be happy to take some of them off your hands ;)
I have a malus 'evereste' and a prunus 'accolade' planted approx 1m apart. I know over time the canopies will intermingle and some people would say I've planted them too close together.
I also have an acer palmatum, prunus 'kojo no mai' and another acer in pots for now. They take 20 years to get to full size so I'm not wasting space in the border whilst they do so, plus I get to appreciate them up closer whilst they're small.
  • i also have a kojo no mai, tiny now but the colours in autumn were gorgeous, just hope they all do ok over winter. i have a few acers too shaina, orange dream, same as you in pots :) if they all get too much i have my parents garden they can live lol

    Prunus kojo no mai.
    It does grow pretty fast...wide/spreading.
1st pic is only a few years old
1st pic ..it was planted spring 2016....Pic taken 2020.
    Other pics from old garden.

Trees do not like growing where their  branches are near /touching other different trees.
    They will grow unevenly.
