What is affecting my Apache chilli plant?

Hi all, hoping someone can help. I have a year old Apache chilli in my kitchen and I’ve noticed some strange looking creatures on it which seem to be affecting it. I’ve had a look online but can’t find anything that seems to match what I can see on the plant. I was wondering if someone knows what these are, how (if!) I can treat it and whether it will spread to other plants?

    Can't see very clearly in the photos but it looks to me like they might be aphids. These can spread to other plants. They can be sprayed off to some extent with just water and squashed by hand and I have also read that a dilute solution of detergent is good to kill them off. Hover flies and ladybirds would be the natural predators but it could be difficult to recruit any of those in the current weather conditions.
