Lesser celandine smile at you on the first sunny spring days and then the plants disappear until this time the following year so really aren’t a problem in lawns other than bowling greens and tennis courts 😊

That is definitely Lesser Celandine. We had it at our last property. When weeding be sure to get all the root tubers attached to the root network or you’ll be putting in a lot of effort for no reward.
+1 here for letting them flower in early spring and disappear again until next spring if they are lesser calandine. Good to have flowers early in the year for pollinators. Have them growing here in places in the garden and have no intention of digging them out as they don't really interfere with the plants growing near them. They are gone again before the cultivated ones start to grow. Already have some flowering here with one shown at the end of this video clip I posted a few days ago.
I have some growing in damp, clayey soil at one end of a border, by a paved path.
I have added some double flowered ones and some with dark leaves. They look lovely together for a short while in early spring and always bring a smile to my face.
They haven't spread beyond their allotted space, maybe because I avoid digging that bit, and soon disappear leaving the stage to other things.
