Washing wellies

Hi, I have recently dug out my fleece lined wellies from my stable , to find that they contain mouse wee inside! Does anyone know what to do with these wellies (I.e. washing them)? These are my only pair and I don’t really want to get any more.

Rubber gloves ... put  warm soapy water and a splash of Dettol or similar into the boots to fill them to instep level. Put your gloved hand and splosh around a lot and give the inside a good rubbing.

Rinse under the cold tap ... dry as much as you can with a towel and then place upside over or near a radiator (you can put each boot over an old wine bottle or similar to hold them upright. Leave to dry for a couple of days.

When nearly dry stuff the boots full of scrunched up newspaper and leave for another day or so to dry the last bit of dampness out.

I've read that if you rub garlic on the soles of your feet, your breath will eventually smell of garlic. Maybe you won't need to get that close for comments😉

🤔 The horses couldn’t get in there?

  • Yeah I’ll wash them out and use gloves and dettol
Well they was in a locked stable with storage so no a horse would not be able to get in there
Mice have been seen in there but you can’t help but have mice out
