sambucus nigra

No problems with it growing but each year I get aphids on the tree which causes all the leaves to drop off I have tried a few remedies but not greatly successful as anyone else come a cross this?

    Hang some bird feeders on it?

    Will the birds eat the aphids as i have not heard of this!

    Mine get aphids around the stem tips. The new leaves are sometimes a bit distorted but they don't make the leaves all fall off. I generally leave them to the ladybirds etc.
    Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
