Prune dwarf buddleia?

I see that in jobs for February it's suggested to 'prune buddleja to the base to keep these vigorous shrubs to a reasonable size'. I planted 2 dwarf buddleias last summer and I do want them to stay dwarf. Should I prune them now or give them another year to establish before a 1st prune?
