I think we've been woodpeckered - one culprit found

Yes, it was Woody - quite happy to just leave him to peck away, even though he is stripping the bark now. He was a little shy, sorry.

    Well caught, I just read your other post on this . It is so nice you are able to leave the tree for now.
    And good luck getting a better shot or two of woody. The is always a branch in the way, just when you do not want or need it. :)
  • Interesting as the woodpeckers on our bramley apple tree make complete circles with no rough sides at all. They don't nest in them but wait until others do and then........pull out the young for food for their young.
