Help! Geranium seed has germinated...now what do I do?
Hello lovely gardeners!
I recently tried sowing some Pink Geranium seeds (Dark Pink F1) in soil on a warm windowsill and nothing happened. I then did a bit of online research and saw that they don't need light to germinate. So I experimented with two pieces of wet tissue on a plate and put some seeds in between, putting them in my airing cupboard a few days ago in a sealed food bag.
I checked them tonight and one has germinated! Just a teeny white shoot has come out. My question is...do I need to pot it up now, or wait a bit longer for the shoot to grow?
Thank you

If the end of the tiny root dries or gets damaged it's game over.
If you can pop the germinated seed into some compost about 5mm deep, then just moisten the compost a little.
Keep them somewhere warm and soon as you see the leaves appear they will need lots of light

I have potted the one that's germinated
Until leaves appear, it needs no light.
When you see the first tiny leaves then keep in somewhere with good light, but move it away from the windowsill when it gets dark so it doesn't get a chill.
Good luck!

I'll move it somewhere light if/when we get some leaves...fingers crossed!
