Good morning Biglad, RosieBB and Ante.
tea and toast - we always had honey on whole wheat toast Food Cafe food Morning food
Very busy time for you at the moment Biglad with the end of the financial year looming. Apparently my middle brother keeps disappearing into his office at the end of his garage - not to be seen for hours.
Ante, its taking some time for your back to recover so make sure you take things easy this weekend and don't set it all off again.
RosieBB, how are you enjoying your new flooring? If Alfie is anything like Lily, he will miss being able to pull himself over a carpet with his claws.
I am going to 'sco this morning for a mooch and some essentials.

Good morning Debs, you weren't there when I posted. The rhododendron you are after is Rhododendron luteum. It is sometimes known as a yellow azalea. they definitely need ericaceous compost. I have two of them and their scent is absolutely wonderful. Have a nice trip with your sister.

    Morning

Bright outside today, although I did hear the tap tap of rain on the conservatory roof about 30 mins ago.

So happy. My horticultural club is opening for supplies on Sunday. They were supposed to open beginning of February but they delayed opening due to Covid.  I thought it was a bit strange as someone had asked for a rough idea when the shop was opening on the Facebook group but there was no answer. A couple of days later they announced it, so I think they must have been finalising opening.  I am so pleased as I was resigning myself to having to pay high street prices for my supplies soon. I am getting low on everything so it has co e at such a good time.

I am looking forward to the weekend too Ante. I hope you have a lovely weekend.

Chive, glad your mum is feeling better.

Happy Birthday to your mum Hazel.

Bluebells,  so lovely when the daffodils come out. I think they are such a happy flower. They appear with gusto after the bleak months with their vibrant colours. Daffodils are one of my favourites. So far I have 1 Tete a Tete which is double headed. My other tete a tete opened and was eaten 😖

@LB those are the ones I want, have moved roses from patio into new raised beds so have some half barrels to fill and thinking of a rhododendron. Never was a fan but after the one we saved from the wilderness a few years ago has done so well I have changed my mind. The scent would be an added bonus!
I want a purple white and yellow theme on the patio this year so that would work.
@PurpleRose a horticultural club sounds like a great idea I wonder if we have one locally?
@Chivetalking pleased to hear your mom is better.
Daughter had a lovely quiet birthday with her little family, I miss her very much but hoping it won’t be for much longer now.

Morning Ruby. That sounds like a good place to go and take a look for plants.

It is good to know about local  plant sales. Our local council used to sell off surplus plants really cheaply. I dont think they do this anymore.

Debs. Have a look out for it in your area. Ours doesn't really publicise. I only know about it as a pass the little lockup on my way to work. It is so good. We pay £2 membership for the year and all the gardening stuff it cheap but good quality. People who show veg and flowers use it. As a member I also get discount at one or two garden centres locally.

Good Morning RosieBB, Biglad, Ante, LB, Debs, PurpleRose, Rubee and all to follow,
RosieBB Nice start to the day, no wet things to worry about and just enjoying the bird song,
Biglad That was a proper armchair snooze, hope today goes well for you,
Ante I’m glad your back is improved, but it sounds like you do need to take it easy this weekend these things are easy to upset,
LB I can imagine the state of your grass verges, after our roadworks a team come by with soil & grass seed to repair any damage hopefully yours may do the same. Hope you get on ok at the Sco today,
Debs A belated happy birthday to your youngest yesterday. Hope you find the Rhododendron that you’re after and your sister gets her spring flowers,
PurpleRose It is nice to see daffodils though I’m not hugely successful with those, Spring is a cheerful colour palate to see in the garden,
Rubee That is a handy place to get plants, I bet they do a good trade there,
Sun has put in an appearance here, have a lovely day everyone.

Hoorah, the gas mains layers are finished at the top end of the Lane so going out to 'sco was a breeze today. Number of plants available was very disappointing though there was no end of mentions of Mother's Day. Perhaps people have been in and bought everything plant related already.

Hi folks. Looking after the boys today. Jonah is in school so I took Gabriel to the garden centre. Bought a few native primroses. It was really cold though so we didn’t stay long. @debs64 I love the smell of those azaleas but they do lose their leaves in winter.
Don’t overdo it at the weekend @Ante30
