Dracaena drying out, edges looks munched on

Hi!
I have had this dracaena-like potted plant for some years now and it has managed to survive multiple moves, almost dying because of underwatering multiple times and being forgotten in a window. Recently I noticed that the tips have started to wilt and that there are multiple "bite marks" on the side of its leaves, almost as if something has munched on it. I briefly checked the soil and leaves for pests, but I saw nothing. Any ideas on what this could be?
I would do anything to save this one, it was my very first potted plant I bought!

All the best,

  • The irregular notches made in the edges of the leaves looks like typical adult vine weevil damage to me.  Those are nocturnal, so you may catch the culprit if you inspect the plant with a torch in the middle of the night.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

Oh man, I was hoping it wasn't some form of bug. Do you think neighbouring plants might have been affected as well? It stands rather close to a Chinese Money Plant.
Thanks a lot for your response!

    Edit:
I checked the poor plant again and noticed small eggs(?) on the leaves, so you are probably correct. Thanks again!

  • If only the one plant is affected then you could re-pot it into fresh compost and wash-off all of the old compost from the roots (because that could contain VW grubs or eggs.)
