Propagating chillies

Hi everybody new to the forum!
I have just used coir growing plugs to sow my chilli seeds in a heated propagator, my only concern is the coir plugs have dried out in the propagator.
Is this ok I have topped up with a little bit of warm water but not sure if it’s needed!?

any help would be greatly appreciated :)

  • I've grown some chilli seeds and have started just misting them each day if they look a bit dry! Mine are in compost mixed with perlite...maybe coir might dry out quicker though? With mine the shoots and leaves are still green so I'm thinking the misting is working :)
  • Very exciting! I'm going to do mine this weekend.

I used coir for most of my seedlings last year and found it did dry out quite quickly.

Old plastic pots with compost in spread the seeds over the top wadd more compost water every day and stick on a heated mat from the pet shop.

I have just thrown away the last plant from last season and started my 7 pots off today.
