Euphorbia Robbiea

I’m a new Gardner. Last year I planted Euphorbia Robbiea and it’s grown loads. It’s been lush and green through winter so far, but today I noticed the leaves are turning brown. I’ve uploaded some pictures.

Can any one advise what’s causing this and what I need to to the remedy?

Many thanks

  • I've not seen this sort of thing on this plant before but could it be frost damage?
  • Ahhh yes possibly. We’ve had snow and frost the last few days.

Do you know if the plant will recover from frost damage?
  • The plant will go on regardless but the leaves will remain damaged until you prune back the flowering stems. If it really bothers you it may be possible to cut off affected leaves although they may also yellow and fall off anyway. This sometimes happens when you move Euphorbia and many plants.
I have done a bit of 'digging' (sorry) as I know this variety to be quite tough but on the Burncoose site, there's a link to frost damage on evergreens and although not specifically mentioned, I suspect this variety can be affected so looks like it is likely to be frost damage. It will certainly not affect the long term health.
