Expired HTA vouchers
I have two old paper HTA gift vouchers, bought in 2017, which I'd been saving for something special, but then we hit the pandemic, and (given I'm 76) I've been in lock-down almost continually since last March, and the vouchers expired 31 December 2020. I've asked the HTA if they'll extend them to make up for the fact I've been unable to use them, and they've replied to say they won't extend, saying that it's my fault for not using them sooner. They also say it's down to their accounting rules, which seems strange, it's only £20 of vouchers.
Does this seem right & fair? I spoke today to the people who issue the newer plastic vouchers, and they say they are happy to extend to cover Covid lock-downs.
