Weeping Cherry Tree Pruning
Hi there,
I have inherited a poor, neglected weeping cherry and would like to spend the next few years pruning it into health. The first major surgery is causing me a conundrum and any advice would be much appreciated. In the photo below (I hope) you can see that there are crossed branches. Right in the centre of the image,
there is one bent arm which is supporting a longer branch. In order to start shaping it I need to eliminate one of these branches, but which one?
My inclination would be to remove the bent arm, which has grown back into the body of the tree, but if this is supporting the other longer branch, will this cause issues here? Any help much appreciated.
