Chop Vine

We are planning to remove lots of ivy climbing and out of control vine. 

What would be the best option to chop and dispose the vine?

Hire a chipper or shredder or something else?

    If you have the room then just make a pile of cut sections in a quiet part of the garden. It will gradually decompose over time and provide a valuable wildlife habitat while doing so.
