Plastic as opposed to membrane is only a problem if you inherit it under some soil or stuff on a newly acquired allotment plot as its a real pain to get all of it up.
The more you tug the more it shatters into bits.

Well ... I know what you’re saying, but as the plastic will break down eventually and then get washed into drains ditches streams and rivers and then into the oceans ... plastic is always a potential problem in gardens 😢

Hi everyone. Thanks for sharing the info in this thread. I am looking to buy black weed control (or "occultation") fabric but I don't want to contribute to the production of a new plastic product. Does anyone know of manufacturers or vendors of weed fabric that's made from recycled plastic?
One caveat - must be available in the EU, not GB, as we are in Sweden and we want to buy quite a lot, so the import charges will be significant.
