Aloe issues

Hi all, I am delighted to say my daughter has taken interest in house plants. She is starting to collect them but has an issue with this Aloe plant. We bought it for just 2 weeks ago. She has watered it once since she had it, from the top but not on the leaves. As you can see it is a gonna but before we get another for her, can anyone help with what has gone wrong here.

The plant is rotting to the core and turning to mush!

Cheers,
Paul

Aloes need very little water over the winter. I might give my indoor ones a little dribble once a month if it's sunny for a few days but they're not doing much growing at this time of year unless you use specialist lighting. There are some succulents that do most of their growing and flowering in our winter but most will get by on little or no water until the spring. If in doubt don't water unless the leaves are shrivelling or drooping.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Thank you for the advice. Hopefully some healthy, happy Aloes to come

I guess she too much watered. Overwatering causes rot. Before water check soil dryness.
    Love organic indoor garden. :)
