Trimming yew hedge
Hello, I’ve been asked to trim a neighbours yew hedge which has become a bit overgrown. Is now a good time to do this? My worry is that any trimming now will promote new growth in spring and will become quickly overgrown again, but at the same time is really needs doing so can’t wait until September which is when I do ours.
Any suggestions and advice would be fantastic thank you 😊

They prune back really hard to the trunk.
Over time it will regrow to form a super dense hedge.
Now would seem a good time to do it.
