There were a few options on the poll I could have chosen. I bought a house with outside space and I just wanted to make it a lovely place where we could enjoy using. From that, other things came I to place. I like to grow flowers that will help attract  pollinators, I love the success of looking at it and thinking "I have done this." Which I find rather satisfying.

I enjoyed this poll. Made me think about why I enjoy gardening 😁

    Creating and surrounding yourself colour
I'm not sure really. It's definitely not in my genes!
I like the colour and creativity, being outside and the fact that you can virtuously compost your mistakes.

No gardeners in my family either, but I've always loved growing plants. I don't enjoy the work of it in the colder months, but I know future me will be glad I did it. At the same time, I wouldn't want someone else doing the work for me, even though I don't enjoy it per se, because I know I wouldn't then be able to enjoy the fruits of my labour come spring/summer. Been miserable here lately though, frozen ground or pouring rain, have a mountain of chores to do  :#

Took it up when I stopped work.
People are generally happier achieving something.
eating the stuff I have tended.
    Giving it away to Newbies.
    Slowing down
    Finding new creatures.

The list is endless and I find more reasons each season.

Growing fresh veg to eat / flowers for your house
To always have something to look forward to (mental health), I never get used to the sheer joy of planting seeds and seeing them germinate, so I can find the front door. But so I can eat fresh veg and have flowers in the house is probably - just - the top of the list

    Being outside
I think of my garden as another room in my house, so I try to make it somewhere I wish to spend time. It is very much about escapism and an antidote to my work. I love so much about the garden - fresh air, watching the seasons, looking out for wildlife, creating, nurturing, growing, being proud, being peaceful, making memories, sharing, mindfulness moments and just being me.

Thank you for allowing me to think about that for a moment @fire
