Cocosmia lucifer and bearded iris

JohnnypJohnnyp Posts: 71
Evening all looking for some advice , I have a corner of my garden in which I have a very old rhododendron growing . I want to remove the Roddy and was thinking of planting some cocosmia lucifer corms and some bearded iris tubers  sort of through each other , does anyone think this would work or would one overwhelm the other and it's a crazy idea ?

Thanks in advance 🤔

The bearded iris like their rhizome baked by the sun to promote flowering , the crocosmia leaves will end up covering the rhizomes. So no not a good idea plant them separately
