Hello - we have inherited this over grown garden archway and I am after a few tips on plants please....

what would you plant on it? I really want something very hard wearing please oh and no prickles!

But .....you already have something on the arch.!?
Do you plan to remove it before planting something new.

Be aware wood tends to rot...you may find that the arch needs replacing in a few years.

Thank you @silversurfer I was going to knock it down and start again...new arch and new plants.

I have the Arcadia and the Buckingham half Arch from this company and been very impressed - they have been up for 20+ years and still have plenty of spring in their step.

The preceding question is do you really want an arch? Do you have two quite separate areas in the garden that need to be connected by the arch?

We like the arch and it does join two different parts of the garden together.

I "inherited" something similar with a mature wisteria on it. Problem with it is I can't get over the top to prune it as it needs so I wouldn't recommend a wisteria lovely though they are.

I have used Agriframes. I have a metal Monet arch that I put in about eight years ago and looks pretty much brand new still. Very hard wearing. This seems to be a ten % discount code, but check it's still in date before committing. There's a load of discounts offered here too, but they might dubious.
