Petunia Plugs

I’d like to order some petunia plants ready for May.  I love them and need quite a few so thought I’d be organised.  As a novice, last year I ordered from Gardening Express and had a terrible experience, I wouldn’t give them my money again.  Which are the best sites to order from?  There are quite a few out there and hopefully some far more reputable than Gardening Express!  I’d welcome your recommendations - thanks.

Last year I ordered from Sutton’s and was pleased with the plants, 22 out of 24 flourishing. I chose Sutton’s simply because they were one of very, very few firms offering the Petunia x Calibrachoa Beautical range which I particularly wanted.

For the extent of the range and the value of the offering I would chose Brookside but I cannot comment on the quality.

I buy mine from J Parker, I got more than the offer as some were double in the root, and I didn’t loose one. If you look around on the net you’ll find a discount voucher, or  if you’re a GW mag subscriber there’s usually a 10% voucher in there.

Excellent choice from J Parker’s too. I see they also do the Beautical range in single colours.

  • Thank you @BenCotto and @Lyn, I shall take a look at both of those.  I’m adding yet more flowers this year in those hangings bags all around the decking areas.  I’ll also take a look at that Beautical variety you mentioned!

I just pre-order mine frm Crocus - because they were pretty much the only company that had the types I wanted.
  • I got mine last year from Jersey Plants(?) Direct. They all grew well, except for the ones my cat dug up   :s
I've got a load of seeds that I dont have space for which I took from last year's if you're interested?

I can recommend Brookside. Their plugs are always healthy and I have never lost any. You can also choose the week of delivery which is a bonus.

  • @fire, @Crazybeelady, @Kaymay thanks all, I shall enjoy looking at these too.  I do like the idea of choosing the week of delivery.  Cheeky cat though!!
Thanks so much for the seed offer but I don’t have a greenhouse unfortunately which is why I go for garden ready plugs 😊
