Drainage for drinking trough planters

I have just acquired galvanised drinking water troughs to use as planters - one for blueberries and the other for veg/salad - carrots to start with. They are 4’ W x 18” D x 15” H and have a single drainage/filling hole in the corner. Do I need additional drainage holes and crocks at the bottom?  I’m very excited with them though realise they might get very hot in the summer so need more watering than other materials. Thank you!

I have a number of containers with only one hole. Crocks, or in my case broken up left over polystyrene from old packaging also will do. The containers get really hot in the summer so not so sure it will be good for your carrots and veg. Others might be able to offer more advice on that.
