Beetroot Leaves as Salad

I hope a quick question(s).

Can leaves from beetroot being grown as beetroot still be used in moderation as a salad?

Where does the balance lie between using leaves, and impacting on the beetroot?

    I find they don't grow the same if you pick the leaves; try leaving alternate ones and use the opposite ones for salad leaves. They are delicious!

    I have about a dozen in pots mainly going beserk, so I may misk one or two leaves off each.
