Help needed with railway sleepers on a slope.

Thinking of using railway sleepers as an edging between lawn and a border (4.8m wide) which is slightly raised above level of lawn. Garden slopes right to left approx 8 deg. slope. Should i keep the sleepers level, or just let the sleepers follow the slope? which would be the easy option.

Easiest is to follow the slope.  However, for the look of it I'd probably go for levelling them.

Does the fence behind follow the slope or is it level? I think either way I'd do the same.

  • Hi Lizzie
The fence is sloping following same slope as the front of the border.

Then I'd think I would have the sleepers sloping as well as I always think it looks odd if one horizontal line slopes and a nearby one is level.
