It looks like the government has already reintroduced in a hurry neonicotinoids soon after leaving the EU. That must have been the much advertised Brexit dividend...such a shame that this is happening so quickly and will harm the fragile bee populations and many species of birds.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
So from Lyns sheet
Birds a possibility. Which is a risk but could hopefully be well managed.
But not bees as it is a non flowering crop. From the article I linked above.
It is the treated seed that is a risk.
It reads as if it will be used only if there was a real (scientifically proven) need.
Also note from a link within the article.
We have not done some complete U turn on leaving the EU. It is not totally banned within the EU.

I would not like to see it used.
Hope that in the future further research will find a better way.
And hopeful they won't have to use it this year.
I wondered if a way of helping could be found .
If people really object is groups who feel it is unacceptable could organize themselves and offer to wave off birds for the few weeks until the seed has germinated and grown a little.
Or do farmers still use the big bang bird scarers ?
Best to tackle each problem as it arises, If it arises.
The do still use bird scarers @ruby
So that part of the bird eating seed equation would also be mostly taken care of.

Fill yer boots
I do not think we will be chucking chemicals all over the place willy nilly just because we have left the EU.
