Im pleased with some bargain lavender. I noticed Its been really expensive and less available this year with high demand, but the sales seem to be starting now. Secret garden club can be very hit and miss but these were £1.99 plus my 25% discount and all arrived like this so Im quite happy with that. Doing a border edging out the front and rest are going in coldframe over winter for filling gaps next year!
Definitely Felco secateurs. I've had mine over 30 years and they are still working well. Could probably do with a good service and I might get that done over winter.
Jet2 (you did say anything) for exceptional customer service even during the pandemic. Others may have had issues with them but we had a full refund within 72 hours of our holiday being cancelled.
Welsh poppies. Has flowered its socks off all summer and still is (dead headed). Slug proof, bee-beloved, sunny and exuberant. Also the same with Californian poppy Red Chief - flowering constantly since May and covered in buds; grown from seed planted this time last year.
I can't get enough of Tidal Wave Red Velour. Such a glorious plant. It's handling heavy rain wonderfully well.
Thalictrum delavayi 'Album' - new in the ground for me this year. So gorgeous and elegant. I'm hoping it will return next year. I'm loving pure white hollyhocks too - going for months with no signs of slowing yet.
Very happy with my sweet peas this year. They flowered their socks off, were wonderfully scented and we've had loads of vases of them. They need pulling up now but there are still flowers on them. They were Lathyrus odoratus, 'More Scent' and supposed to be white. As the season has gone on they have been flushed with pinks and blues and the remaining flowers are all blue/pink and on very short stems with hardly any scent now. Will definitely be growing them again next year.
Just received my tomato seed from The Happy Green shop. (eBay) good price, quick delivery, I know they’ll all germinate as I always use them. all this for £4.59 post free. Loads of tomato seeds will last me years. 14 San Marzano as a free gift. (EBay)
Just bought a couple packets of seeds from the Happy Green Shop (nasturtium and tagetes to keep my tomato plants happy (via ebay)).
I know it's only a sales ploy but I just love the way they do business. They gifted me a couple of small packets of seeds, giant Italian parsley and early Nantes carrots, plus two plastic plant labels with a picture and name of a butterfly on the back, a really nice touch.
Looking through their website, all their packets of seeds are 99p (I think) with free postage over £5 via Royal Mail (I see this has changed).
Sometimes it's nice to buy something and getting a little bit more than you paid.
I ordered some unusual tree dahlias from Crug Farm and they phoned me to say they will split their own and will send me cuttings. I am rather delighted.

Something like this will not be forgotten, it'll pay dividends for Crug Farm. True saying: 'What goes around comes around'. I think Karma really does exist even in business.
