Can anyone identify this shrub?

It has white flowers in the summer but unfortunately I don’t have a picture. I’d like to make sure I’m looking after it correctly. Thanks in advance!

    I'd say that's a  rose of some kind, judging by the thorns and the serrated foliage.  :)
    If you post a pic when it flowers, you'll maybe get an ID, but if it's a rose, there are so many it can be tricky to ID accurately.
    There are rose experts on the forum though, so you'll get plenty of help with it  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....



    I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
