Why is my kalanchoe dying?

This is my second kalanchoe and I just can’t seem to keep them alive! I read that you shouldn’t water a kalanchoe too much at all but maybe I should be watering it more? This kalanchoe has decent drainage and has a fair bit of sunlight but I can’t work out what the problem is. Any advice gratefully received!

How long have you had it? If not long, it could have got chilled on the way home from the shop, or been kept in not-ideal conditions when it was in the shop, or somewhere else on it's journey from the nursery.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

I’d cut off the dying leaves, then put it on a coolish windowsill somewhere and forget about it. They do seem to thrive on neglect. My daughter left hers while she was away for four months, and it was still alive when she got back. Picked up well with infrequent watering after that.
  • I treat mine horribly: in the garden forgotten about all summer, minimal water in the winter. It is growing well but it's very hard to make them rebloom, as they need some large number of hours of sunshine per day which the UK doesn't provide...

I've had it for 2-3 months I'd say. In the last month or so it's really started to decline.

Thanks - I'll try that! I  have trimmed dead/dying leaves and will leave it to its own devices for a while!
