    Have a look at the Muck Boots website. The long boots are quite expensive, but the shorter boots are much more reasonable and good quality.

  • @Topbird and @Dovefromabove, thank you very much for the Hunter and Muck Boots suggestions - they look really good and will definitely be my saving goal for this year, although unfortunately out of my price range for the moment! Once I have saved enough, investing in some longer lasting, better quality boots is definitely on my list of things to do.

    @Obelixx, they sound really good and like they would definitely solve the slim calf problem, and they sound like a reasonable price, so will have a search to see if I can find anything in a similar price range. Thank you.

    @pansyface Hiking boots are definitely an option, thank you; I have a relative who has said I can have their old walking boots if needs be. I will have to have a rummage and see if I can find the dubbing wax!
