Daphne odora

Chlorosis of leaves what can I do

Posts

  • Hello @kencharnley506PwgLrux and welcome to the forum 😊
Is your Daphne planted in a container or is it in the ground?  If in a container what sort of compost is it in and when was it last repotted?
What’s the usual feeding and watering regime?
If you can show us a photo of your plant that may help us.
Click on the ‘landscape’ icon above and follow instructions ... if your picture doesn’t appear you may need to reduce its size.
    😊

  • It also depends on the age of your plant. Daphnes are fickle and often do not have a long life span. I have grown them in pots and open ground, some last quite a few years, others suddenly start turning up their toes after 5/6 years.
Chlorosis is usually a sign of a deficiency in a mineral element. I would try giving a feed of a general fertilizer to start off, if there is no improvement it will indicate your plant is giving up the ghost.
  • We have had one now for over 30 years and this year it didn't respond well to the very dry weather we had in the early summer.
We hope that it will keep going as it is a fabulous plant to have in the garden.
