DO SPRING BULBS STOP SUMMER PLANTS GROWING

I have lots of spring bulbs left over from the usual planting spots. If I plant them in the summer bedding areas will they affect the growth, crowd out and be in competition for space and light with the budding summer plants during the period they are in decline and the summer plants growing ?   Is it best I keep them apart ?

The summer bedding plants will be fine planted in between the dying-down bulbs. You're more likely to damage bulbs that have died down early and disappeared while digging holes to plant your summer bedding.
