Trimmer line recommendations?

Hi everyone!
I have a DeWalt trimmer and I never thought I would need to change the line :D
So I started to google things and realized that I don't know anything about this stuff... so I need an advice from real users
I found this guide, but again the brands are unfamiliar to me...

Any suggestions are welcome!

Look up your make and model of trimmer on the net, or in the handbook, it will tell you which one to use.

  • It's the diameter of the line that is the key. Too thin and it will break too easily,  too thick and it will jam in the spool.

As I said, best choose the recommended one for the strimmer.

I would also avoid looking at useless American comparison sites that gush about all the products, allocate scores randomly and recommend products which can’t be bought over here.

If you have a DeWalt strimmer, buy a DeWalt spool. Simples.

  • Re the diameter I noticed after having replaced my trusty old electric one with a petrol model that the small cord that came with it broke quite often. I think it was 2.5 mm. Replaced with 3.5 which is much more robust. But I can't run the machine with the full length now as it won't hold full revs. Reduced by a third it's fine but then have to manually from after the auto feed kicks in.
