HELP will my monstera plant recover

i dont have a photo but i bought a monstera plant and part of one of the leaves has actually been cut out, as if someone had attempted to mimic the splits in the leaves.
anyway, it looks terrible and its quite a big leaf so i cant remove the whole thing. what do i do? will it die or regenerate the missing chunk of leaf? HELP

  • It won't die, they are tough plants, but it won't regenerate either. The leaf will persist until it it is too old to manufacture food for the plant and then it will be shed.
A picture would certainly help, so we can see the problem  for ourselves, and so would some info on the age & size of the plant. Young plants have simpler and less varied leaf patterns than older ones, so it might just be something that you weren't expecting.
