Thank you - and looking for thoughts on best hedging plants for diversity

Hi guys,

Thanks to everyone for their tips on hedging plants, much appreciated. We did establish one seven years ago, but now can't remember where we sourced the bare roots. We used a mixture of beech, hawthorn, red maple, rowen, red berberis, pear and hornbeam. We're on granite here, in North Wales in a mountainous area. The soil is pretty acidic. I now want to establish a second hedge, with more of an emphasis on food for pollinators and other insect life. The second hedge is going in a more sheltered, but drier part of the garden. Reading around, I was thinking of hawthorn, berberis, maple, wild cherry. Any suggestions? Thanks again, Sian
