Cabbage Palm

My palm looks healthy with the exception to one growth head. This growth head is soft a squiggy . Can I ask for some advise on how to deal with this? I wonder if I should cut off this growth or leave it. It feels like it’s rotten on the inside and I prefer it doesn’t travel up the tree.

  • We had one some years ago that looked as though it was deciding that enough was enough. We dug it up and having cut out all the "bad" bits replanted it in a different part of the garden
It is now a great specimen.
  • Perhaps I have mislead you all. The photo show the dead or dying head which is about 5 feet of the ground.  The rest of the tree is rock solid.  I definatly dont want to dig up the tree as the rest of the tree is continues to grow and producing large green leaves. Any other suggestions will always help me make a descision on the next step forward.
    THANKS ALL..
  • Many thanks everyone for your advice, it is very much appreciated.
