Phygelius salmon leap

Evening everyone. Just wanted to check, is Phygelius salmon leap semi evergreen? I’ve noticed the lower leaves are starting to turn colour

I don't know but you need to keep an eye on phygellius. It can be an absolute thug. Watch out for runners.

A thug indeed. I'm still digging out runners from one I removed about 5 years ago!

I think  I've won. Only the odd shoot. @Buzzy2 😊 the capsid bugs will need to find somewhere else to party too.

I think they're only evergreen in much warmer climes. Anywhere else it would be regarded as a semi  [at best ] perennial, so changing foliage colour would be normal.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I would expect the leaves to fall off in winter even down here

It stays evergreen down here in SW France, and it is a thug if you don't keep it under control!
