Rescue Orchid

Hi all,
I've rescued this orchid from a friend and hopeful that I can save it. 
However, I'm not sure whether to prune back this stem? It started off with more colour all the way up to the top, but gradually seems to be fading further down so I don't know if it's salvageable?

    Yes if the stem is brown cut it back to just above a green healthy node. If there are none just cut it close to the base, feed and water and wait fingers crossed.

    Thank you. I cut one node at a time and I'm afraid none were green :( 
    I'll be crossing all fingers and toes.

    Agree with @Dovefromabove . However even if the flower stems are all brown and ou have to cut them right back it doesn't mean that the plant is going to die.
    Keep the humidity up and the plant will produce new roots, often outside the plant, and then next year you should see a new flower spike growing out from the leaves.
    The moth orchid, Phalaenopsis, is robust and a great indoor plant that will flower for many years.
    Give it a chance and water with rain water.
