Buddleja

Does anyone has grown this woodland plant in a clay soil successfully. I like them but my soil is not sandy at all?

    Yes. They're fine, assuming it's had some organic matter added to ensure drainage is adequate.
    I've never had anything but heavy clay. They're perfectly happy in it, and I've had them in every garden. 
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

  • We are in clay soils and the davidii grows well but the globosa is even better and still in flower now in the SW.
