DIY stores, garden centres, fencing businesses.  Google around for local suppliers or even a carpenter who can do a made to measure.

I made mine - it's not too difficult, unless you want a really fancy one.

Size will be a factor too. Is this the sort of thing?

  • I rate Jacksons Fencing products due to their specialist Jakcure treatment that means their products come with a 25 year guarantee. They offer a range of gates in traditional or more modern styles.
  • Thank you everybody

We definitely need to see the photos  :)
The thread's a year old though, so I expect the OP has already made their decision.

It depends on the style of the garden and house, and the surrounding area. I like my metal gates. They are a simple design, painted plain black, nothing ornate or fiddly.

Benefit of the doubt (until an ad appears). Could be a new forum member reading through some old threads. It's easy not to notice the dates.

  • I like metal garden gates and don't think they look pretentious at all. It's all about personal choice rather than being told what is and isn't suitable!
  • We've got 5 bar farm gates, to keep the stock in or out :)
