Which Liquidambar Styraciflua is this please?

Hi

First post and looking for advice.

I bought a Liquidambar Styraciflua quite a few years ago (10/15 possibly) and it grew to be quite a beautiful tree (with no pruning). Then last yr I had to move, obviously couldn't take the tree with me, and am wanting to buy another one for my new garden.

I didn't realise there were so many different types!

I'd like the same one again and think it was a Lane Roberts but can't be sure.

Any ideas from the pics below?

I'm kinda set on the Lane Roberts one (as I'm convinced that's what I had before) but the Fastigiata looks like a good one as well. I have a smallish garden so will need to prune whatever I buy to keep it a decent but manageable size.

Many thanks for any advice/help! I've looked at so many online I'm confusing myself!

Liquidambar are glorious trees.
Hmmm! But how you tell one named cultivar from another.
They do grow large and are not always suitable for small gardens.

Do you live anywhere near Hilliers gardens, Romsey.Hampshire?
I remember several years ago they had several planted .....you could look at them all to see which you prefer.
Have you considered a narrow one.....Slender silhouette?

Liquidambar styraciflua Worplesdon seems to be more compact.
Height and Spread (after 10 years): 4.5m x 3.5m

Thanks for that. I did look at the Slender silhouette, but ruled it out as it was just too slender! I ruled out the Worplesdon for the opposite reason, it seemed to be too large. Although the Lane Roberts one isn't far behind when you read all the online info. Which is why I'm confused! The tree I had was perfect so would love another one, easier said than done it seems!

This site mentions the Lane Roberts responds well to pruning so is an excellent choice for small gardens, which I think is swaying my decision. This site doesn't have any info on Fastigiat though.

Good luck...they are all fab trees.
Now is perfect time to plant trees.
Our Welsh tree used to hold the leaves until Christmas most years.
