Hi we have just planted some evergreen shrubs , was just wondering will they need feeding

    I would say no.  They will be entering a period of little to no growth during Winter.  It's more important that they get sufficient water.  If there are extended periods of no rain in Winter, and if it's windy too (which can dry out plants), then you may need to occasionally water them.  For their first Spring and Summer next year, you should also water occasionally during hot and dry spells.  After that, they should generally look after themselves when it comes to water.

    A mulch of garden compost or well-rotted manure around the base in Spring should provide the nutrients they need (it would do no harm to do that now), or you could do a liquid feed (such as seaweed) every 1-2 weeks in Spring/Summer.  If you do mulch around the base, ensure to keep it away from the trunk/stem, as that can encourage rot if it is covered up.
