  I believe it is the very scented winter flowering  evergreen Daphne bholua alba.

  Thank you all for suggestion. From what you say, yes, it looks like a Daphne. I am looking for a shrub (or two) for my shady corner and thought it’d be a good candidate. Thank you again and I wish you a good day.
