Attached are some images - I went for the professional potting bench (with lid), along with a 6ft and 4ft clearspan bench with solid top and slatted bottoms, all from Two Wests.
The benches were a bit fiddly to build, mainly struggled to square them up, the potting bench was much easier and I absolutely love it!
Still organising the greenhouse!
More than happy to take some close ups, potting bench with lid on etc should anybody wish to see them more in depth prior to buying.
Oh if you're looking to spend a kings ransom then look at Alitex, or Hartley. I enquired at a show once, just for fun, took a week to recover from the shock
@Dahliadelights thanks! I'm so happy with it after struggling with self made benches out of old bits of wood.
To add something constructive here... If you decide to invest in anything like this and do it in bits and bats, go for the potting table! I cannot tell you how amazing it is! Its so good for access, for mixing up your compost with your bonemeal and so on, even to lay your tubers and bulbs on whilst potting up.
In terms of building, get 2 people on it instead of 1, you'll build it in half the time!
Havent got the Kings ransome, got my greenhouse from The Greenhouse People, cheap metal staging on e- bay, does the job also folds flat if required. Fancy wooden potting bench from Homebase, doubles as drink/food table when guests are round.
Very nice but I would not have decking wood on the floor of a greenhouse it will decay and a home for snails. My staging is sitting on mono block under each foot to let water drain away.
Folding flat would be the only addition I'd like with mine.
Its pretty tight in the greenhouse and hard to clean it all out, folding flat would mean I could take the staging out and clean properly as it doesn't actually fit through the greenhouse door!
@Andy19 yes, although not ideal on the decking, I built the decking with a slight decline towards the back of the greenhouse, so water does flow away out of the greenhouse and off the decking, with a silicon bead on the front and sides to avoid water coming in from the front, I often open the door to avoid too much condensation and damp in there too.
It was a cheap greenhouse in which I plan to replace in the next few years with one built by myself, in which I'll probably do something more permanent with the floor.
Snails and slugs don't cause me any problems, I often go slug and snail hunting when the sun goes down, most nights especially once the annuals and dahlias etc are in the beds, with the wife laughing at me through the window.
Good advice though for anybody planning on putting on decking, so thanks.
